If your child is too young to pick a theme or choose the guests for their birthday party, you might want to consider keeping it small. If you're an extrovert who loves big parties with lots of people and details, go ahead and throw a grand celebration! You're skilled at organizing large events and thrive in the midst of all the activity, no matter how noisy or crowded it gets. Just keep in mind the personalities of your guests—if most of them enjoy big events, it will be a memorable day for everyone!

However, if you're more introverted or feeling worn out around the time of the party, aim for something smaller and more manageable. Your child likely won’t remember much of the event (if anything) other than the photos you show them later, so it’s important to make sure you’re not looking stressed or exhausted in those pictures. It’s completely fine to customize the party to suit your own needs and preferences, ensuring it’s a special day for both you and your family. Focus on simple, easy moments of quality time and joy—whatever that means for you—and don’t forget to snap those adorable photos! After all, those are the memories your child will have from their toddler birthday.
